Fair Hills Resort Celebrates 100 Years in 2026 With a Summer-Long Centennial Celebration
Detroit Lakes, MN – Fair Hills Resort, the beloved family-owned lakeside destination on Pelican Lake, is proud to announce its 100-year anniversary in 2026. Founded in 1926, Fair Hills has spent a century welcoming families, friends, and generations of guests to experience classic Minnesota lake life. To mark this milestone, Fair Hills will host a Summer Centennial Season filled with special events, celebrations, and experiences designed for guests, neighbors, and the wider community.

Whether visitors stop by for an afternoon or stay for a full week, Fair Hills invites everyone to take part in the Centennial celebration throughout the summer of 2026.
Summer Kick-Off Celebration Day

The Centennial Summer Season begins with a full day of fun, food, and festivities at Fair Hills Resort.

Every Saturday from Memorial Weekend through Labor Day Weekend
Guests and visitors can enjoy Centennial Happy Hour from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. featuring:

Signature Centennial cocktail and mocktail
A Centennial Happy Hour punch card will be available. Purchase 10 Centennial specials and receive a commemorative piece of Centennial swag. Completed punch cards will be entered into a drawing for a prize at the end of the summer on Labor Day Weekend.
July 4th will feature double punches and extra drink specials.
Hootenanny, Cruise & Smorgasbord Nights
Every Tuesday, June 23 – August 18
Guests can enjoy one, two, or all three of these classic Fair Hills experiences:

Big Pelican cruise from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Smorgasbord dinner buffet from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Centennial Hootenanny from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Cruise tickets include a drink ticket from The Perch. The 2026 Centennial Hootenanny will feature the best songs from Fair Hills Hootenannies through the years. Fun for all ages.
Big Pelican Cruises
All aboard the Big Pelican, Fair Hills’ iconic 55-foot floating party pontoon and one of Pelican Lake’s most recognizable experiences.
With room for up to 40 guests, onboard food and beverage service, and even an onboard bathroom, the Big Pelican is perfect for corporate events, weddings, groom’s dinners, family gatherings, and celebrations of all kinds. From spring breezes to summer sunshine and autumn color, every cruise offers unforgettable views and lasting memories.

Credits apply to:

Use the credit toward a Big Pelican cruise, team-building activity, or a special treat for your group. Fair Hills looks forward to celebrating its Centennial by helping teams relax, connect, and enjoy time at the lake.
Day at the Lake Business Packages
Fair Hills’ Day at the Lake packages are designed for businesses looking to reconnect, recharge, and enjoy a classic lake day. Dates are available all summer long, with premium dates offering special pricing and limited availability.
The Perch Coffee & Bar Lounge
The Perch Lounge continues to be a favorite gathering spot on Pelican Lake, serving specialty coffees, cocktails, mocktails, beer, and wine. Guests and visitors are invited to stop by throughout the summer and enjoy Centennial Saturday specials.
Live Music All Summer
Fair Hills plans a full summer of live music throughout the Centennial Season. While most performances are for guests on property, select events will be open to the public. The goal is to feature:

One musician on the deck one evening per week

One musician in The Perch during happy hour each week

Weekly music aboard the Big Pelican, serenading the shoreline
A full schedule will be announced as performers are finalized.
