The Perch on Pelican Lake – Best of 2019

Summer 2019 served us up some fabulous memories this year! We are counting down our absolute favorite moments and activities of the season in this 10-part blog series! Stay tuned for more additions each week! Coming in at #5… The Perch on Pelican Lake!

2019 saw a brand new, exciting addition to the resort – a full-service bar! This spring, what was formerly known as the “Pine Room” received a gigantic makeover at the start of our spring. By May, The Perch on Pelican was born. We served up a wide selection of beers, wines, and specialty cocktails this summer for our guests. A few of our favorite summer cocktails included…

• The Blue Pelican – a bright blue tequila-based drink
• Pete’s Peach Tea – a mix of peach schnapps and fresh tea
• Lemon Drop Martini
• Strawberry Margarita
• Pina Colada
• Cubre Libre

Besides the tasty beverages, The Perch also served as a great space for a number of new activities this summer. We hosted Karaoke Night every Wednesday in the Perch, which was a crowd favorite. We had adult board game tournaments like Bunko and Kahoot. The brand new 75-inch flat screen TV was great to watch baseball games, the 2019 Women’ World Cup in soccer, the US Open, and other sports.

Every weekend, we hosted live music at the bar on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evening. Fortunately, we have a wealth of talented staff at Fair Hills who were eager for the opportunity to croon out some tunes for our vacationing guests and music-loving locals.

Group events and weddings were happy to have the social space as well. Wedding guests enjoyed much-appreciated bloody mary’s in the morning after the weddings. Corporate retreats were glad to decompress there after a day of meetings. Golfers from Wildflower stopped by for a post-round cold beer while enjoying the cool lake breeze.

And with it’s lovely lakeside views, laid-back atmosphere, and friendly bartenders, the Perch on Pelican Lake became another fun spot for creating great memories this summer at Fair Hills Resort.
