Sunday at Fair Hills

Just so you know, I got up ay 7 am to “walk with Barb.” There weren’t many of us – but for me the morning walk was a nice break everyday and a great way to get to know a few other guests. A few of us did walk everyday but several more walked a few times. We walked just over 3 miles and were picked up by The Big Pelican boat each day. On the final day we were rewarded with caramel rolls and a walker’s T shirt.

Sunday was cloudy but not cold. Our youngest one (age 3) enjoyed the pony riders. The older two (7 and 8) enjoyed fishing in the afternoon. Actually they were really looking forward to fishing so I am pleased to report that one got 5 fish and the other got 6. The best news was that none of them were worth keeping!

The ice cream social was very tasty. Our only sad news was that it was too cloudy for the star gazing. Fair Hills has hired an astronomer to give a tour of the stars, which sounds very cool. With the cloud cover the event was held inside. Apparently the astronomer has software to show the night sky inside. (I was home with a sleeping toddler during the event.)
